HCLTech has partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to launch an AI-powered nano Global Capability Centre (GCC) offering, aimed at helping enterprises transition from AI experimentation to business deployment through smaller, focused operations.

The offering, part of HCLTech’s GCC 360 solution suite, combines its GCC advisory expertise and AI platforms, including AI Force, with AWS cloud infrastructure and agentic AI services such as Amazon Bedrock, Kiro and AWS Transform.

Unlike traditional GCCs built around scale and broad mandates, the nano GCC model centres on compact, product-focused teams, AI-enabled workflows and phased expansion.

Its capabilities span AI-native engineering, autonomous IT operations, advanced data analytics and intelligent business operations, with responsible AI governance integrated into the model.

HCLTech will lead the design and implementation of the operating model, while AWS will provide joint go-to-market support and access to its cloud and AI services.

The offering targets enterprises with existing GCCs seeking AI-led transformation without disrupting conventional operations, as well as mid-market companies looking to establish an in-country presence without the commitment of a large-scale setup.

For existing GCCs, the model envisages a hub-and-spoke structure anchored at HCLTech’s Lucknow campus.

Delivery will be supported by the company’s India-based delivery organisation and its Centre of Excellence in Lucknow.

“The nano GCC model is at an inflection point.

What began as a cost and talent strategy is becoming the primary engine for enterprise AI capability building.

The question for most organisations is no longer whether to build AI-native operations, but how to do it without the drag of legacy setup models.

The nano GCC is our answer to that urgency,” said Kiran Cherukuri, Executive Vice-President and Global GCC Practice Leader at HCLTech.

Prabhakar Appana, Senior Vice-President and Global Head of the AWS Ecosystem Business Unit at HCLTech, said the offering would provide enterprises with a faster, lower-risk route to AI-native operations.

“By combining HCLTech’s GCC expertise and AI capabilities with the scalability, security and agentic AI services of AWS, the nano GCC offering gives enterprises a faster, lower-risk path to building AI-native operations.

It enables organisations to start with focused use cases, demonstrate measurable value and scale confidently as their business needs evolve,” he said.

Amit Anshu, Head of GSI and IT Business at AWS India and South Asia, said enterprises across Asia-Pacific wanted to build AI-native operations quickly and confidently.

“AWS provides cloud infrastructure, agentic AI services and DevOps capabilities that power HCLTech’s nano GCC offering.

This helps organizations move from pilot to production and scale as their business demands evolve,” he said.

Asia-Pacific will be the first region covered in the rollout, HCLTech said.
