The company remained constructive on growth in the second half of FY27.
Sundaram Finance reported a 21% year-on-year (YoY) increase in standalone profit after tax (PAT) to ₹475 crore in the second quarter of FY27, driven by robust disbursement growth and improved asset quality.
The Chennai-based non-banking financial company’s disbursements rose 28% YoY to ₹10,355 crore in Q2FY27.
Net interest income (NII) grew 17% to ₹963 crore, while operating profit increased 11% to ₹557 crore.
Assets under management (AUM) expanded 19% YoY to ₹65,992 crore as of September 30, 2026.
Asset quality also improved, with gross Stage 3 assets declining to 1.84% from 2.03% a year ago.
Net Stage 3 assets fell to 0.91% from 1.13%, while provision coverage improved to 51% from 45%.
“Domestic economic momentum remained strong in Q2FY27 despite an increasingly challenging global environment.
Renewed tensions in West Asia, crude oil price volatility and tighter global financial conditions increased inflationary and external-sector risks,” said Harsha Viji, Executive Vice Chairman.
Managing Director Rajiv Lochan said the company remained constructive on growth in the second half of FY27, while identifying geopolitical tensions, monetary policy direction and the impact of a below-normal monsoon on sentiment as key factors to watch.
“We have entered H2 with strong momentum and a superior asset-quality position than last year.
As the rate cycle turns, our focus is to sustain growth, improve asset quality further and build resilience in profitability through disciplined pricing, optimal asset mix and early intervention on collections,” he said.
For the six months ended September 30, 2026, disbursements grew 25% to ₹19,302 crore and standalone PAT rose 21% YoY to ₹997 crore.
Consolidated PAT increased 20% YoY to ₹1,153 crore.
The consolidated results include Sundaram Home Finance, Sundaram Asset Management and joint venture Royal Sundaram General Insurance.
