A total of 80 home textile exporters will be supported with government subsidies under the Market Access Initiative scheme to participate at Heimtextil 2027 to be held in Frankfurt, Germany, from January 12 to 15 next year.
As the lead council for India’s participation in Heimtextil, the Handloom Export Promotion Council (HEPC) facilitates participation of Indian exporters in the international trade fair for over two decades, providing them with a platform to showcase their products to the global market.
About 120 people attended a recent seminar in Karur on Heimtextil Trends 2027/28 and visual merchandising organised by the HEPC, under the National Handloom Development Programme (NHDP) of the Union Ministry of Textiles, to familiarise textile exporters and industry professionals with emerging global trends, colour forecasts, and visual merchandising techniques.
The seminar aimed to provide insights into the latest international design developments, colour trends, and market preferences, enabling exporters to enhance the appeal of their products, strengthen their competitiveness, and explore new business opportunities in the global home textile market.
V.
Lakshmi Narasimhan, chairman of the HEPC, emphasised the importance of understanding global trends and promoting design innovation to strengthen India’s handloom and home textile exports.
P.
Rangasamy, Joint Director, HEPC, presented an overview of the Council’s events, highlighting its upcoming programmes, promotional activities, and opportunities available to exporters.
M.
Nachimuthu, president, and S.
Sukumar, secretary of the Karur Textile Manufacturer Exporters Association (KTMEA), highlighted the importance of adapting to changing international market requirements and strengthening the export potential of Karur’s textile industry.
