Wide-ranging discussions on potential opportunities for commercial partnerships across conventional and new energy as well as the global energy landscape were held during United States’ Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Ambassador to India Sergio Gor’s visit to the Jamnagar refinery Wednesday, the company informed in a statement.

“The visit included wide-ranging discussion on the global energy landscape and opportunities for commercial partnerships across conventional and new energy,” the statement read, adding, “The exchange covered reliable and affordable energy supplies, technological advances, resilient supply chains and the investment required to meet growing demand.”

The discussions assume further significance especially because of Mr.

Rubio’s comments prior to the visit wherein he described India as a crude oil refining “superpower” and advocated for processing more Venezuelan crude in India.

The company also informed that Reliance Industries’ Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Mukesh Ambani along with Executive Director Anant Ambani also discussed digital infrastructure, including the role of “dependable power in supporting data centres and the expansion of the digital economy”.

“Shri Mukesh Ambani and Shri Anant Ambani shared their perspectives on opportunities for collaboration with US companies, drawing on complementary strengths in technology, engineering and advanced manufacturing.

The interaction provided a constructive opportunity to exchange industry perspectives and explore areas of mutual commercial interest,” the statement read.
