Tata Power Company Ltd. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL) to develop 110 kV power infrastructure involving an investment of around ₹250 crore.
The project will meet the 90 MW power requirement of BPCL's Petro Resid Fluidised Catalytic Cracking Unit (PRFCCU) project at its Mumbai refinery, Tata Power said in a statement.
With a processing capacity of 3 million metric tonnes per annum (MMTPA) and a project outlay of approximately ₹14,203 crore, PRFCCU is BPCL's second-largest project currently under execution and the largest ever undertaken at Mumbai refinery.
Under the MoU, Tata Power said it will provide 110 kV connectivity and undertake the design and development of the associated power infrastructure to meet the project's power requirement.
This infrastructure development is envisaged to be completed over approximately 24 months with a combined estimated outlay of about ₹250 crore for Tata Power and BPCL, subject to applicable approvals and project milestones.
